I've extracted the details that relate to persons with the surname RIGGS for those records that I have found and been able to access, and these are documented in this section. They are so numerous that recipients are listed on separate pages for the British Isles, Australia, Canada, South Africa and America, and there are links to these pages from the above buttons. There were far fewer RIGGS in New Zealand or Newfoundland, and I've not identified any deaths of RIGGS in the armed forces in those countries. As always, if you are aware of any omissions, please let me know the details so that I can consider adding them at a later date.

As regards deaths and casualties in the armed forces and prisoners of war, the existence of records that can be searched, either online or in the respective National Archives, (and the amount of detail they contain) differs from country to country. Apart from the United States lists of individuals who were casualties or prisoners of war, referred to above, there is a list of World War 2 Prisoners of War in the British Army, but no RIGGS are included. The sources I've used are as follows:
